Meet Dr. Milt
Dr. Milt grew up on a small farm in Maryland that included horse stables boarding racehorses. Surrounded by the racing industry from a young age, he became fascinated by the veterinarians who cared for these elite athletes. He gained hands-on experience working as a hot walker and groomer at several prominent racetracks, including Laurel Park, Bowie, and Marlborough in Maryland, as well as Delaware Park in Wilmington.
Dr. Milt went on to attend the University of Georgia, where he earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM). After graduation, he served in the Army and the U.S. Public Health Service. He also worked as a Health Science Administrator at the National Institutes of Health, further deepening his expertise in medical research and animal management.
Upon returning home, Dr. Milt continued practicing as a racetrack veterinarian, working closely with many well-known horses, trainers, and jockeys. He later served as Director of Animal Resources and Attending Veterinarian until his retirement in 2010.
Today, Dr. Milt remains actively involved in the field as a consultant, providing expert guidance on veterinary concerns including special animal care, housing, nutrition, hygiene, and training. He regularly shares his knowledge with organizations involved in veterinary research and product development. He is licensed and accredited in Pennsylvania by the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
With decades of hands-on experience and a lifelong dedication to animal health, Dr. Milt continues to create products that equine owners and veterinarians can trust for the highest standard of care.
